Southern ITeC has once again confirmed why it is one of the leading Training Organisations in Northern Ireland. Several of the ITeC staff members have successfully achieved their European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) qualification. The ITeC staff are the first in Northern Ireland to receive this qualification. This is an outstanding achievement for the management and staff of the ITeC.

The European Computer Driving Licence is a modular based qualification which encompasses, File Management, I T Applications, Internet and Email. The qualification is for anyone who wants to certify their computer skills according to a Pan-European industry standard. Large multi-nationals have already adopted the licence, setting it as the performance benchmark they expect from their employees.

Commenting on this remarkable achievement Mr Des McConville Manager of the ITeC congratulated all involved stating he was "proud of the achievements of the staff - this success reflects the ITeC's policy of ensuring that the training delivered is of the highest standard. Our staff have equipped themselves to deliver training in line with European initiatives, we are preparing ourselves for the requirements of the 'new Europe' and the millennium".

Mr Bill McClean Chief Executive of ECDL presented the certificates to the successful staff members. He said he was proud to be associated with the first certificate presentation in Northern Ireland and congratulated Southern ITeC on this achievement.

Southern ITeC has a new schedule of courses available from January 2002.
